Ezekiel Speaks to Us Today

Ezekiel 1:2-3 “On the fifth day of the month (it was the fifth year of the exile of King Jehoiachin), the word of the Lord came to Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, in the land of the Chaldeans by the Chebar canal, and the hand of the Lord was upon him there.”

The nation of Israel was in exile in Babylon. God was fulfilling His promise to bring a judgement on Israel because they had rejected His Word.  He had blessed the nation of Israel in the past, when they had obeyed, and He had sent prophets to warn them of the coming judgement when they were in disobedience, and now the judgement was upon them.
I believe we in the United States are experiencing a similar pattern, as are other nations.  But all is not lost, even in the midst of the judgement God was still speaking words of encouragement to His people who would listen.  I am looking forward to the study of Ezekiel we will begin on August 22 & 24, for in this study we will see God giving encouragement to those who seek Him in the midst of the judgement of their nation. God also  promises future blessings for the faithful when He comes back to this earth.
This study will give us a better understanding of what is happening in our world today as we take a look at the prophecies about the days in which we live. Many of the Old Testament prophecies about the future of Israel will be brought out as we study Ezekiel.  So, please plan to come, or listen online, and be encouraged as we see what God had to say to Ezekiel and through Ezekiel while he was living in a time of judgement on his nation. I truly believe you will find Ezekiel relevant to us today.

Jim preached on rest and work at South Norfolk Baptist Church in Virginia.
This summer we have been blessed to be able to once again travel and bring the Word to many who were ready to hear.  On the first of June, Jim wrapped up his Tuesday and Wednesday Night Bible Study teaching on the book of Revelation.  Shortly thereafter, Jim, Becky and AJ drove for more than 3,000 miles and went through 12 states. Jim preached on multiple occasions in Michigan, Virginia, South Carolina and Florida.
This summer Nicole  continued working toward her graduate degree at UCF, and Elise shared Jesus with children in Kentucky, Tennessee, California and Missouri as a camp counselor for CentriKid Camps.
On the last day of July, Elise arrived home. Then six days later, the entire family went to the Alton Bay Christian Conference Center in Alton, NH.  Jim preached five services at the conference center, three of which were outdoors under a tent. It was truly beautiful there, and God filled Jim’s preaching with His Spirit.
Next week, Jim will begin teaching the book of Ezekiel on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings.  If you would like to get the weekly emails that share the Bible study schedule, or if you would like to listen to recorded Bible studies online, please click here. Also, please check Jim's speaking schedule regularly to see if he will be speaking in your area.
Jim preached five Campmeeting services at the Alton Bay Christian Conference Center. God led him to preach on the cross. What a powerful time in the Word!
God gave us a beautiful setting.  The tent sat on a hill overlooking Alton Bay on the southern tip of Lake Winnepesaukee.
